Notes
First dive of the day. Visibility was fantastic — easily 20m-plus at all times below 3m depth. The outflow from a nearby river had put a fine silt layer in the shallows, but descending below this the visibility was perfect. Current was fairly strong in places, with the reef being composed of huge rocks in parts. One with a fishing net draped over it after it had been cut loose following a snag. The channels and areas close to the rocks seemed to increase the current as the water flowed around/through the obstacles. Near the start of the dive, saw a devil scorpionfish (*Scorpaenopsis diabolus*) walking around a rock on the reef. Found a number of blue-spotted rays and a cuttlefish. Dived with Big Fin Divers Kota Belud.
