Notes

Conditions and swell continued to deteriorate throughout the day. After lunch on Gaya Island, we dived this site for the first time. It started on sand just outside the netted swimming area where they conduct skills for Open Water students. Because of this, expectations were pretty low to start with, but the site rose to the occasion and really surprised us. The reef is pretty, although visibility didn't improve much beyond 7m at any point. However, there was a huge variety of marine life, and the site offered a bit of a muck-diving experience for those who want to slow down and look for macro life. Beyond the macro, the fish life was good; we found a cuttlefish and a turtle with a remora attached to the top of its shell.
