Notes
Shore entry via some concrete stairs next to a bar at the Kontiki Dive Resort, which seems to be a loose collection of dive shops, a bar, a restaurant, and, of course, the reef. The site starts shallow with a sandy bottom interspersed with patches of corals and some seagrass. Heading southwest, the seabed slopes down gradually until a depth of around 14 m, where it turns into a rock wall. We turned north and followed the rock wall northeast. Many sea fans, a number of lionfish, and two eels were spotted in the deeper wall area. Visibility was around 10–15 m at depth, with a slight current in places. Its direction seemed to vary depending on the structure of the wall. At the turnaround point we continued ascending gradually and crossed back over the top of the wall. We saw a number of anemonefish, razorfish, pipefish, puffers, and other pretty tropical fish whose species I couldn't identify. We spent our safety stop at 5 m searching for critters amongst the coral patches on the sand, before heading west to the exit point to leave the water. Dived with Dive Funatics at Kontiki Dive Resort.
