Notes
Very similar dive to the first; entered the water via the South stairs. The tide was a bit higher, so I needed to put some air in my BCD while I put my fins on. Descended into 1.8–2m of water, then had to dodge a swarm of students on courses coming back to the stairs. An anglerfish was spotted amongst the rocks in the shallows; on our return, though, we found the current had turned it upside down and it was dead. Out to the wall and followed it down. The cold thermocline was still very prominent at the 30-meter mark. A small school of large snapper was swimming just off the wall at the 40m mark. One even had a fairly sized remora attached to the back of its head. Continued north before turning to come back along the wall for around 10 minutes. Then turned southwest and crossed the top of the reef to get to the stairs. After taking my fins off at around 1.5m depth, a banded sea snake shot out from beneath a bunch of kids playing in the shallows. It gave me a start, and Camila came close to stepping on it while she took her fins off. All in all, a bittersweet dive, as it is the last of our dives here in the Philippines for this trip.
