Notes
After the first dive, conditions had really deteriorated, and the captain and crew wanted to cross back over the channel so that we would be closer to home if the weather continued to get worse. It was a slow trip back across, dodging the larger sets of waves. But by the time we finished, we had been out of the water for an hour and were ready to dive again. The boat was moored, and we dropped onto a sand-and-seagrass bottom at about 5 m depth. We followed the mooring line the boat was attached to south, where it dropped over the edge of the wall to its anchor point. From here, we followed the reef wall southwest. The wall had a number of overhangs and a lot of sea fans. We saw a couple of eels, some smaller sardine balls, and lionfish, amongst other things. We turned at around 25 m and followed the wall back, higher up, towards the boat. We dived with Dive Funatics at Kontiki Dive Resort.
