Notes

The day started out with about a 15 km/h wind coming from the southwest. This doubled over the course of the morning to around 30 km/h by midday. As we left the marina, there was a lot of wind chop and rolling sets of waves, making the channel crossing slow and bumpy. Upon arriving at the site, we descended to around 5 m, over a bottom mostly of sand and seagrass. Heading west-southwest, we reached the reef wall, descended a bit, and followed it along. The current was strong in places, but with patches where it was still, depending on the shape of the wall. It was an interesting enough landscape, with a huge variety of sea fans. But the other marine life was a little lacking, and the current made it hard to stop and search for it. We dived with Dive Funatics at Kontiki Dive Resort.
