Boat dive with Sail Rock Divers in Chaloklum, Koh Phangan, Thailand. Saild rock is a large rock protruding from the ocean 1/2 hour boat ride from shore. Site has a number of bommies surrounding the rock and attracts large pelagics to the area. Main ones being whale sharks that we didn't see on the day, although there were large clouds of trevally, Massive number of barracudas and Malabar Groupers in the area surrounding the rock. Site is not that large after doing two dives there felt like we had seen everything. The other downside of the site is that it is the main dive site in the gulf of Thailand so there can be hundreds of divers diving it at any given time. Vis was okay aroun 10m but nothing to write home about. Dived with Sail Rock Divers and was pretty impressed. They have a nice dive shop, boat was comfortable and staff all seemed to know what was going on.
